Pay Per Click

So you’ve build a few blogs, and maybe some landing pages that you’re hoping to get a little traffic and make a few bucks right?  I’ve been doing the same, after all I’m just an average Joe and this is not my main source of income.  Well, lately as this part-time gig’s financial rewards starts to increase, I’ve begin to wonder if I should make this more then just ‘part-time’?  Maybe part-time times 2?

I’ll be honest, I’m lazy!!  Why? Because my other business takes up about 80 hours of my time every week, and that is why I don’t update this blog as often as I would like to.  So if a few extra hours a week can make mw an extra few hundred bucks a month, I’m all for it.

So why this PPC (Pay Per Click) post?  Well I was having a late night instant message conversation with one of my friend who works just as hard as I do in his main gig.  He said, “Hey dude every try PPC?” and my answer to him is probably what most average Joe would respond.. “No Way Dude! I ain’t got the money or time for that!”

2 minutes later he replied “ $103 Spend on PPC campaign, sales commission $815 … Time spend this week 3 hrs”

Fuck me!  Pardon my language, bit he just made what I made in 2 month in 3 hours.  Which made me think really hard this week, it’s time to do some tweaking!

You know what they say “Don’t work harder, work smarter!”  So I’ve decided to take the plunge and give PPC a try.  How much is this gonna cost me?  Well this is what I got planed out!

He then send me this link ( PPC free credit or coupons ) let see for  $35 bucks I can get $80 in Microsoft adCenter and $130 in Yahoo Search Marketing, so that’s $210 in PPC credit for $35!!

I’ll report back in a few days with my results and see if I’ve changed my ways

StumbleUdon

Are you using it yet? If not you’re missing out on some great traffic. Since I last blogged about getting Stumble Traffic using StumbleUdon, I’ve come to rely on it to get some of my blog posts a nice kick start!

I’ve seen a few people try to sell this on Entrecard for EC credit (actually that’s how I found out about it at a cost of 250 ec), I think that’s just silly! The more people in the networks means more unique people to stumble your site!

Not everyone are allowed to join the StumbleUdon, you must have an invitation code, and have the following requirements:

must have a profile pic and has rated some sites
must have at least 20 mutual friends

If you qualify and would like to sign up now, click the invitation button below, it’s that simple. The only thing I ask is please leave a comment if you’ve used the invitation button below so I can update it with a new invitation code for the next person that might want to join.

Don’t give up just yet!

Chances are if you’re reading my blog, then you’re in the same boat as I am..  A newbie!  And you’ve tried everything to increase you PR, your traffic but nothing seems to work right?  Don’t think you’re the only the only one, There are thousands of bloggers in the same boat.  The big guys get bigger because everyone else wants to link to them and hope for something in return, but that’s rarely the case.  You enter contests, leave comments and it’s still going no where.  Well my friend, I’m tired of doing that on a daily basis!

If you’ve read my ‘about me’ then you’ll know that I also work in the adult industry, and some of you might think that’s all play and no work that is so far from the reality.  The truth is I can count about handful of mainstream (that’s what we refer you guys in the industry) blogs that I update, which most of it is quite fun, a break from the daily adult routine.  But for my adult biz I update about 30+ blog on a daily basis, which got me thinking about today’s post.

You see in the adult industry, it’s all about volume!  In my case, 30 plus blog is almost impossible to manually update and drop comments, and trade links with other blogs.  So the logical solution is to automate everything!  Post from RSS scraping (which is encouraged in our industry) and link trading is on autopilot.

One of the biggest difference between the blogs in these two industry is that, mainstream everyone wants to get paid, you want an ad?  Pay me, you want a text link? Pay me!  But in the adult blog world, they can’t wait to trade link to their blogs with you!  When you ask someone to trade a hard-link, they want to know if you got ore blogs to trade with!

I’m no SE guru, and I couldn’t tell you what implication an A-B-C trade have on your ranking, but what I do know is that it works!  I have adult blogs that generate 10k-15K daily unique traffic, but I struggle to get a few hundred hits to my mainstream blogs.

MainstreamblogtradeSo I decided to implement a link trade on my mainstream blogs and see how that works out, so if you’re in the same boat as I am what do you have to lose?

I’m throwing in all my mainstream blogs for you to add you blog to, you can visit my BlogTrade blog to see all the blogs that I’m working on.  If you just want to add your link to WeblogMoney.Com then visit the trade page.  Keep checking back to the trade page, I will be adding more blogs from different niches as the week goes on.

If you’re seeing good result, let me know and if you think it’s a crap idea, let me know as well!  If you got a really cool blog and you would like me to feature it on my BlogTrade blog, use the contact page and I’d be more then happy to give you some exposure.

Where did January go??

As an affiliate marketer I have the tendency to want to do too many things all at once. Like me you probably visit the usual suspects every day, John Chow, ShoeMoney, Uber Affiliate… list goes on (and if you don’t then you should). The problem for me is this, every one of these guys are pitching something everyday.. well almost. And that is cool with me, because that’s what affiliate marketing is all about right?

So I signed up for all these programs with great determination of becoming the next ‘Uber Affiliate’! Next I send my whole 100 clicks from my site to it.. nada, ok lets spend some of this weekend’s beer money on some kind of PPC campaign… nada! Now I’m back to square one!

What a shitty tip you might say, and you’re right! But I do have a point, and that is DON’T get sidetracked from what’s working for you because the big guys say it the next greatest thing and you feel like you have to jump on it right away (chances are the bazillion readers of their blogs are jumping on the same train)!

I’ve been on that train, as a matter of fact I’ve been on it since the beginning of the year and that’s I’m making this post. Since the beginning of this year, I’ve jumped on every program recommended by every reputable affiliate marketing blogger. And I’m sure a lot of these programs and offers are really great, but the truth is this IT DOESN’T WORK FOR THE SMALL GUYS LIKE ME and probably you!

Now that I blew the first 45 days of the year trying to become an overnight pimp affiliate, I’ve come to the realization that I don’t have a $3,000 a day PPC budget, I don’t have 10K of daily unique visitor. So one step at a time average Joes, there’s nothing wrong with having a blog that pulls in only $100–$200 a month, duplicate that 10 times and it becomes a decent chunk!

Website-magWhat does this have to do with the Website Magazine ? Nothing, I just put it up there because they send me a nice free magazine every month, and it does have some great info. Best part of it is I get my daily dose of information on affiliate marketing in the bathroom (guys, you know what I’m talking about… put that Playboy down and get yourself a complimentary copy of the Website Magazine)

Making extra money by adding a footer to your RSS Feed

Most blogger don’t take advantage of this extra real estate that you already own, including myself. If your goal is to monetize your blog, this is one practice that you SHOULD use on all your blogs.

Why is this important? Like most bloggers I read through 10–20 blogs on a daily basis, but I don’t visit every site to read them, a quick scan through all the RSS pulled in on my iGoogle (about 5 via email) allows me to decide which new post deserves my attention first!

By reading just the RSS feed, I just avoid all the advertisements on these blogs. Out of the 20 or so RSS feeds that I subscribe to, I’ve only seen 1 feed that actually monetize the real estate space on their RSS footer, and that’s John Chow.

What can you do with your RSS footer?

  • Copyright information
  • Sponsor ads
  • FeedBurner users (now that they’ve been acquired by Google, you can add your AdSense ad in the footer area)
  • Showcase other blogs that you have
  • Contest information
  • Pre-sale of anything that you might be working on

How do you add a footer to your RSS feed? After a few searches I’ve found 3 WordPress Plugins through (Daily Blog Tip) I was only able to RSS Signature to work properly, but the other 2 plugins seems to offer a little bit more functionality, so I would give them all a try and use the one that suites your needs.

  1. RSS Signature
  2. PostPost
  3. Better Feed

Let me know how these plugins work out for you!
