Y do Repubs think the media conspires against them? (serious answers only)?

I’ve heard conservatives accuse networks such as NBC of trying to help liberals win elections. Thing is, NBC is owned by GE, and General Electric’s chairman (Jeffrey Immelt) contributed to:

1.) John McCain’s campaign in 02/25/2008

2.) George W. Bush’s campaign on 09/17/2004 (before the 2004 Nov election)

3.) George W. Bush’s campaign on 10/18/1999 (prior to the 2000 election)
According to the Federal Election Committee.

Y would a company such as GE that’s out to MAKE MONEY give so much in contributions to the GOP, but allow their own network (NBC) to exclusively help democrats?

Is there a monolithic liberal media that unlike other industries does not care to make profit, but only wishes to help the dems convert the public into liberal lemmings (followers).
Or
Is this so called conspiracy theory really a case of conservatives playing the victim card in order to garner suspicion of foul play among the public whenever their guy gets bad press?

Furthermore, I’ve even heard some conservatives claim that most Newspapers, Universities and magazines (around the world) are part of a liberal conspiracy. Wouldn’t the easiest way to control public opinion be to discredit all sources, but those that agree with your own viewpoint??

That’s what dictators have always done as a means of social control.

Sometimes we need to see the evils of this world but I guess I would try to get out a somewhat perky one before this one think NIrvana

Is money the main cause of racism/discrimination/evil?

It seems like money (also education, social status, etc) is the main cause of racism, what people judge you by, etc. If you’re rich or wealthy, you’re hated on because there are others who don’t have that but want it, so they in turn spew hatred towards you because you’re what they wish they can be.

That’s sociopathic if you ask me. lol.

Also, I just think that the people of this society that ARE wealthy, many of them (not all) choose to display it, with great clothes, cars, jewelry, etc, as this is a norm in our society today ( thanks in large to the media). This also creates stereotypes and hatred.

So, if our WHOLE country is based on money, making money, profits, working, etc, and we CREATE this problem, why do people complain about racism/hate/discrimination/crime/etc, when we’re creating the same problems we complain about/

Sorry guys, raising the minimum wage, or making some poor schmuck rich won’t solve anything.

It’s the whole system that sucks. Won’t change.

What really is Social Media Optimization (SMO)?

I have read a lot about Social Media Optimization (SMO) recently but they all seem to be about using social networking sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, MySpace, etc. to create a buzz about my site. Why should I spend my time and money on adding content to other sites that might create buzz about my own? And how do I do that without being labeled a troll?

What I would like is to optimize the User Generated Content (USG) that is already on my site and generate the buzz here, not for some other company. If I could do that I think it would create a networking affect between my users as they share the good stuff? (In a perfect world it would generate the buzz back to my site)

I understand how Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is all about fixing up my website so that search engines can better index it. I want to do that for UGC. Shouldn’t SMO be about making it easy on the users that visit my site?

So how can I do that? Can that even be done? Or am I misunderstanding what SMO is about?
