I’ve seen some sites on the internet claiming that you can make money from writing blogs… is this true? I like to write and want to make some money writing about what I like to do.

It is possible to make money. What blogger do is to put ads on their blogs. When someone clicks on the ad they make some money.
You can open a free blog account at blogger.com
If you are just starting out I would however recommend a revenue sharing site, instead of a blog. They make things much easier for you. Basically you publish your text with them and they share the ad income with you.
