Y do Repubs think the media conspires against them? (serious answers only)?
I’ve heard conservatives accuse networks such as NBC of trying to help liberals win elections. Thing is, NBC is owned by GE, and General Electric’s chairman (Jeffrey Immelt) contributed to:
1.) John McCain’s campaign in 02/25/2008
2.) George W. Bush’s campaign on 09/17/2004 (before the 2004 Nov election)
3.) George W. Bush’s campaign on 10/18/1999 (prior to the 2000 election)
According to the Federal Election Committee.
Y would a company such as GE that’s out to MAKE MONEY give so much in contributions to the GOP, but allow their own network (NBC) to exclusively help democrats?
Is there a monolithic liberal media that unlike other industries does not care to make profit, but only wishes to help the dems convert the public into liberal lemmings (followers).
Or
Is this so called conspiracy theory really a case of conservatives playing the victim card in order to garner suspicion of foul play among the public whenever their guy gets bad press?
Furthermore, I’ve even heard some conservatives claim that most Newspapers, Universities and magazines (around the world) are part of a liberal conspiracy. Wouldn’t the easiest way to control public opinion be to discredit all sources, but those that agree with your own viewpoint??

I don’t think the Republican leadership really believes it. Rather, they use it as a way to help get their core supporters energized and compliant. By railing against the evil “Liberal Media,” they get those who they know won’t be bothered to find out the facts angry enough to make sure they vote, while at the same time convincing them that any negative information they see in the press is biased.

All you have to do is pick up a newspaper, watch a newscast from NBC, CNN, MSNBC, or listen to NPR and you’ll understand.
I also own stock in GE, but I don’t have much input into what NBC news reports, so that part is just silly. Money is money, and I don’t care who makes it for me.
The fact is, many network news media “on air” talent are quite open about their liberal leanings. They say it doesn’t affect their reportage, but it does, just as my conservative leanings seep thru in all sorts of conversations. It is who they are, and it is who I am.
Their is nothing inherently unfair about a Liberal media. The biggest problem is people like them (and you) who try to deny it. I will give MSNBC credit for one thing – they are honest about being liberal. They say it’s to balance the conservatism at FOX, and we would disagree on that, but at least they are up-front about their bias.

Dictators usually are socialist, and socialism is a trait that the democratic party takes pride in.
I am not sure what you are trying to get across.
They don’t, I’m a democrat and I can see they are getting shafted. Even Hilary was treated as less than Obama during the debates.
I don’t think its a conspiracy, but I do think the Media is playing up to Obama like he is the next Savior. They only care about ratings.
Your examples in the question tend to contradict my answer, but the truth is in the print and on the TV:
A full page editorial in the NY Times essentially calling General “Be-Tray-Us” a liar and a traitor – published before he had even given his report.
An unsubstantiated and untrue article accusing John McCain of having an affair with a lobbyist.
All three major networks sending their anchors and their entourage to follow Obama around on his trip overseas – despite the fact that McCain has been to Iraq 8 times since the war began, 3 times last year alone with little or minimal coverage.
These examples have nothing to do with my view point, they are blatently biased and surely nothing more than a smear campaign aimed directly at the right.
Your question takes up a lot of space of nothing. The only thing you need to do to answer your question is take a step back put down the kool-aid and watch the T.V. or written press.
Furthermore, ask the media themselves. Polls show that most consider themselves liberal or democrats. The percentage is somewhere around 90% with only around 10% consider themselves conservatives. This also reflects close to the same in the schools and universities. So if it isn’t an organized conspiracy, then it is a bunch of individuals working on their own who are aiming for the same thing.
Yeah and Rupert Murdoch(ya know the owner of Foxnews) contributed to Hillary’s campaign. What does that tell you? Corporations even though you people claim them to be are not Republican nor Democrat, they are globalists who will support anyone that will keep NAFTA and other global trade agreements beneficial for themselves. They tend to contribute to who they believe will win the election to curry favor for their company and recieve special treatment.
The fact is nearly 90% of journalists contributed to Democratic campaigns.
